Bio

I began restoring fine period antique furniture and other objects of art in Sarasota Florida in the early 1980’s. In 1987 I was offered a chance to purchase an antique restoration business that had been in existence in Buffalo, New York for many years servicing most of the western New York area. I am a self-taught restoration artist whose clientele these days consists of private collectors, museums and antique dealers spread throughout most of the East coast.

After many successful years in the Buffalo area in 2000 I decided to downsize the business and relocate back to the Sarasota-Bradenton area to continue the antique restoration business in a much warmer climate while still making trips back to the Buffalo area occasionally to service my long time clients there.

Our business specializes in the historically correct preservation and restoration of 17th, 18th and 19th century period furniture and other objects of art including but not limited to Oil Painting Restoration, Gold Leaf and Frame Restoration, and Custom Faux Finishes. I am in no means a production shop, only taking on a few projects at a time so that my clients are not waiting for long periods of time for their work to be done. Turnaround time will usually take no longer than 30 to 60 days from a start date depending on what is entailed for the project. Although the business has scaled down quite a bit from the Buffalo days with the employees and the large shop I continue to welcome any changeling and unusual projects that may come along.

We can also fabricate a large variety of custom made antique reproduction pieces and replacement pieces to suit your needs. I work frequently with antique dealers, designers, and insurance companies in the area to help settle claims for damage that you or your clients may have occurred during a move or other circumstances. I can assure you that your restoration project will be done correctly the first time with every attention to detail applied to all of my work.

I still travel occasionally for clients as a maintenance service which may include cleaning, waxing and any minor repairs or touch ups needed on pieces that clients prefer not be removed from their residence. I have found that this is a great service that many clients have come to enjoy over the years. Our nearly forty years in the antiques business assures you that your pieces will be handled with the utmost care and knowledge with a reputation in the antique business second to none.

Please contact me for a private consultation to discuss any restoration projects that you may have. References available upon request.
